Southend vs Yeovil
Southend and Yeovil meet at Roots Hall in an interesting League1 clash, where two out-of-form teams fight for points. The home team manager Steve Tilson has seen his side lose standings week after week after a great start, and Shrimpers have only won 3/16 of their last fights in all comps. Only one of those wins has come from league matches, and only reason they are not in the relegation zone is the general poorness of bottom 3 teams. At midweek they had a decent match against Leyton Orient, where the good spirit & fight was rewarded with a late 95" leveler.
The opponent Yeovil has been in lower midtable whole season, and there has been very little glamour over their campaign as well. Glovers have also won only 3/16 previous matches, and so far they possess only 5 wins in the whole league campaign. The schedule has been difficult for them in the last weeks though, and Yeovil have fought with Leicester (0-2 loss earlier this week), Scunthorpe (1-2 home loss) and Millwall (1-1 away draw). It's not a surprise away games have been the most difficult for them, and only lowly Hereford have scored less goals away from home.
Hence, Southend are clear favorites here but the class difference gets much smaller due to awful absences the home team must deal with: 50% of the league goals is gone and also key centre-back Peter Clarke is missing. #1 and #2 strikers Revell & Freedman got injured at midweek, and forward Francis Laurent is out long-term. Yeovil are without key centre-back Terry Skiverton, but defensive player Lee Peltier returns.
Yeovil have problems scoring at away, and they will probably come to defend for a draw. Southend are missing a lot of firepower, and it'wil be a very low-scoring match with these two facts combined.
Prediction:- Home win with low scoring
